Harry Styles’ new album Harry’s House lands in top spot in first week on Billboard charts … selling more than 500K units

Harry Styles’ new album Harry’s House debuted in the top spot on the Billboard 200 after selling more than 521,500 album units in the US in its debut week.

The 28-year-old singer’s new album, for the week ending May 26, had the highest-selling week to date in 2022; and since fellow Columbia Records artist Adele sold more than 839,000 units for the week ending November 25, 2021 for her album 30.

The Grammy award-winning artist’s previous solo two efforts – his self-titled 2017 album and the 2019 release Fine Line – also debuted at number one in their respective first weeks.

The English vocalist’s latest album also set a modern-era vinyl sales record for a week, as more than 182,000 vinyl copies were sold in the US, which Billboard reported as the most since 1991, based on Luminate tracking.

It broke a mark set by Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) last November after more than 114,000 vinyl copies of the record were sold.

The 182,000 in vinyl sales would have made Harry’s House the top-selling album on Billboard 200 for all but three weeks this year, the outlet reported.

The release of Styles’ new album was bolstered by its lead single As It Was, which has been the number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 the past three weeks.
