In the end, Liz Caruso conceded to Bruce Poliquin.”I called Bruce Poliquin just now to congratulate him on winning the Republican nomination. Campaigns are tough, but at the end of the day, we are all Republicans, and it’s time for all of us to get behind our nominee,” Caruso said. Poliquin, the former congressman who Golden unseated in 2018, held the seat for four years and previously served as State Treasurer during the administration of former Gov. Caruso concedes to Poliquin in Congressional District 2 Primary

Maine’s swing seat in the US House of Representatives, the second congressional district (CD 2), was in the spotlight as two Republican candidates competed for the opportunity to square off with two-term incumbent Democrat Jared Golden in November.

In the end, Liz Caruso conceded to Bruce Poliquin.

“I called Bruce Poliquin just now to congratulate him on winning the Republican nomination.

Paul LePage.

Cumberland County DA concedes to Sartoris

Cumberland County’s District Attorney Jonathan Sahrbeck conceded to Kennebec County Assistant DA and Brunswick native Jackie Sartoris Tuesday.

Maine Justice and Safety PAC received $300,000 in funding, and according to financial data from the Maine Ethics Commission, it has spent over $172,000 to promote the candidacy of Sartoris.

Sartoris released a statement that read, in part: “I want to say thank you to my incredible family, rooting for me and helping out in every way they could. Especially I am so proud that my kids and husband spent this entire day at the polls greeting voters with such enthusiasm. I especially want to thank my campaign manager, Sarah Skillin Woodard for her steadfast and sure direction and for believing in this campaign, and for the early encouragement and efforts of Marie Follayttar Smith.”
